Founded in 1965, the Québec Interprofessional Council was originally a voluntary association of 15 professional corporations, now known as "orders."
The Council's existence and role were recognized in specific legislation with the passage of the Professional Code in 1973 and its entry into force in 1974. In addition to grouping the professional orders under one umbrella, the Council, along with the newly created Office des professions du Québec, was vested with the mandate of acting as an advisory body to the government. You may consult the Professional Code under Professional Laws on the Council's home page.
