The general meeting of members is the ultimate decision-making body of the Council. It is composed of 46 professional orders, represented by their presidents or delegates and the president of the Council.
The executive committee is responsible for the general administration of the Council. It is composed of seven people who are elected by the general meeting of members: the president of the Council, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer and three directors.
The president is elected by the general meeting of members from among representatives of the professional orders. The president is the Council spokesperson and liaison person with the Minister responsible for the application of professional legislation and the Office des professions du Québec.
Volunteers from the professional orders ensure the democratic functioning of the Council and are active in its committees and forums.
Three standing committees created by the general meeting of members-the planning committee, legislation committee and finance committee-assist the executive committee in carrying out particular functions and studying various files. Members of these committees are appointed by the executive committee.The committees are chaired by a member of the executive committee.
The Council may also create ad hoc committees to study particular issues.
